Welcome to this blog of Jungle Comics.

The popular jungle comics of the 1940s and 1950s owed much of their success to the presence of scantily clad jungle girls swinging on vines throughg various kinds of vegetation.

The adoption of the comics code in 1954 meant, among other things, that jungle girls would have to dress more demurely, which pretty much destroyed the whole effect.

It should be noted however that the biggest star in jungle comics, Tarzan,
managed to stay in print through the 50s and well beyond.
You can view the comics with any cbr-reader like CDisplay or ComicRack.

Most comics are from the 50’s-80’s with some 90’s.

I did not scan the comics myself only collect them from various sites on the internet, internet archive, Usenet Newsgroups and torrents.
So thanks to all the scanners and uploaders.

You can access the information and comics through the sidebar.
The comics are mostly in packages from around 100mb, inside these rar-packages you will find the comics in cbr format.

This blog is purely ment to preserve the comics and to enjoy them, no financial meanings are involved, if you like the comics buy them as long as they are availabe, because nothing can beat the feeling of reading a real comic.

If you find something wrong (downloads, numbering, information) please let me know so that i can correct the error.

  5. Dear Boutje777,

While I was a kid, I used to read Buck Jones’s comic strips which were drawn by great British illustrator Ernst Parker.
I miss those stories badly, will it be possible to post some of them ?

    • boutje777 says:

There are Buck Jones comics in the Western Comics Blog and Four Colour Comics blog, but these are from the Western Movie Star and has nothing to do with Jungle Comics. Perhaps you ment those ?

      • Dear Boutje777,

Perhaps, I made a mistake by mentioning those stories in the Jungle Section. But, as long as I remember Dell strips were different from the ones I read here in Brazil.

      • boutje777 says:

No mistake at all, you can always mention things about comics in all my blogs.
Ok, that is something i didn’t knew, that Dell comics were different in Brazil (i do know there is an awful lot of coffee in Brazil), thanks for explaining.

  7. Hallo boutje 77!

    Sorry for my delayed reply!

Yeah, there is plenty of coffee plantations in Brazil but their flavour is no longer the same!
People say now, the best coffee brand comes from Colombia!
When I say, Dell Comics were different here I meant that some stories were not published in America.
They came from England and the illustrators were all British!

Hello, I really appreciate your blogs and follow them. I am looking for a series of comics published in 1937-1938. The series is a translated one, yet the name of the original one was not given. Despite my efforts, I could not recognize the series. Could you help me find the original one? Is there an email address where I can send the images?

  12. boutje777 says:

You can upload the images on a fileserver and leave the link in a comment, or just place the images in a comment with a html-code.

  13. gokseledu says:

Thank you very much for your effort. Unfortunately, I cannot find the names as they were not given.

    • boutje777 says:

Perhaps you can ask your question with the link for the pictures on the British Comics blog, that is the blog with the most visitors. And there are people that have alot of knowledge about comics there, not only British.

I was looking in vain for Akim, an Italian Tarzan clone by Renzi and Pedrazza that was very popular in many European countries in the fifties and sixties. Sometimes the name was changed to Jukan and Congo Jim.

    • boutje777 says:

Yes, i know that title, it was published here in the 50s’ and 60’s also. I am afraid i don’t have any issue.
